Sanderson help Inverawe cash in on growth of online shopping

Sanderson, the publicly owned provider of software solutions to mail order and multi-channel retailers has provided its new and improved Elucid Webshop, its ecommerce module, to Inverawe Smokehouses.

The Argyll based multi-channel retailer of smoked and fresh fish, deli produce and luxury gift hampers has been supplying delicatessens, farm shops, niche retailers and consumers for the past 25 years. The company has now grown into one of Scotland’s largest mail order houses and has gained a reputation for quality, exclusivity and luxury.

Inverawe has used Elucid from Sanderson to run its mail order business since 2004. The integrated system is designed specifically for multi-channel retailers, the software has helped Inverawe to control costs, increase efficiency and develop customer relationships. With online being the fastest growing channel of choice for consumers, Inverawe realised they needed to upgrade their existing site to maximise sales via its ecommerce arm. After a comprehensive review, Inverawe chose the Elucid Webshop, which has recently been re-launched following a number of enhancements.

Inverawe’s newly launched site takes advantage of many of the new features within Elucid Webshop, offering a whole new look and feel for Inverawe. Improved search and navigation, together with stunning photography, add to the online shopping experience. A reminder service is designed to increase the volume of repeat purchases and develop brand loyalty. The service allows users to record dates, such as special occasions, birthdays and anniversaries in their account, and sends automated reminder emails at a specified time before the event.

Customer service is also key when it comes to the delivery options; users are asked to specify the date they wish to take delivery of the goods and have the option of sending to multiple delivery addresses. Additionally, greeting messages can be added to gifts and special instructions given to the carrier to ensure safe and timely delivery.

The Elucid Webshop is also proving a good vehicle for Inverawe to develop market intelligence. The site collates valuable marketing information which can be used to deliver more targeted, and therefore effective, marketing campaigns.
