Cosyfeet started life in 1994 selling Velcrofastened slippers to the elderly in old people’s homes. Now it is an expanding multichannel marketing company operating across four sales channels: catalogue, wholesale, retail and the Internet, which has become the hub of the business, generating 20 percent of revenues - not bad for a company whose customers’ average age is well over 70; hardly the profile of the internet age.
“We did a lot of research and there were a number of things that swung us towards Elucid: we liked the people and that’s really important because it was going to be a lengthy relationship; strategically, we felt we needed a system with the backing of a larger company and technically Elucid was new and fresh; because it was Windows-based.” Praise indeed but it is also a combination of David’s nose for business and his relationship with the system supplier that has delivered results for the business.
“Elucid is right at the core,” says David. “It’s what we do; there’s no real definition of where the system begins and ends; it’s everything. If there’s one word that’s used more than any other in this building, it’s Elucid.”
