Intelligent thinking from Sanderson improves Dee Bees' sales

Sanderson, the publicly owned UK provider of software solutions to the Delivered Wholesale and Cash & Carry industries, has won a contract to provide Business Intelligence to Dee Bees Cash & Carry.

Dee Bees is a Grimsby based independent Delivered Wholesaler stocking over 40,000 products ranging from groceries and catering to cleaning products. Having already implemented the Swords solution from Sanderson which they use to automate their telesales call centre, warehouse, cash & carry, and delivery operations, Dee Bees have now introduced the Business Intelligence system from Sanderson. Priding themselves on being a modern and forward-thinking operation, Dee Bees recognised the need for a system that enables them to work smarter and manipulate the key business information held within their Sanderson system.

Dee Bees were keen to understand more about their customer sales and to identify sales trends. The Business Intelligence tool from Sanderson provides Dee Bees with a single, holistic view of their business information, including crucial information on sales performance. It assists Dee Bees in identifying which customers ceased buying certain products compared to previous years whilst ascertaining whether customers are profitable or if they just buy promotional stock. The solution enables the company to carry out targeted promotions to specific customers. In turn it means that Dee Bees are more effective when it comes to forecasting what stock they need and by when, reducing overstocking and therefore working more proficiently.

Jackie Taylor, Sales Director for Wholesale Distribution Solutions at Sanderson explains:

“Our Business Intelligence module functionality has enabled Dee Bees to track and flag up if sales are down. Data stored by date can be tracked, and year on year comparisons can be done all at the click of a button. This information is excellent for the sales team as they can go directly to the customer to ascertain why they’ve stopped buying.”

Craig O’Conner, Dee Bee’s Managing Director concludes:

“I am very pleased with the Business Intelligence software for a number of reasons; it is simple and quick to gain a crucial insight into our current sales information. I can extract information on which customer sales are down this quarter compared to the last year’s quarter, enabling me to take a proactive approach to tackling accounts where sales are down. Trends and comparisons can easily be created and data can be represented in charts or using a traffic light system which flags up where product ranges may be faltering.”
