Proteus solves order entry problems for Tandem Group

Integration removes time consuming, manual processes to improve workflow & productivity

Ever-expanding Proteus customer Tandem Group plc recently acquired online leisure company E.S.C. (Europe) Ltd (ESC).

Tandem Group already owned Dawes Cycles, Claud Butler, outdoor play specialists MV Sports and the famous mobility brand Pro Rider. With the addition of ESC to their product portfolio Tandem Group is a major force in the outdoor pursuits industry.

Pro Rider supply disability scooters, electric golf trolleys and electric bicycles and ESC specialise in the supply of gazebos and party tents; both supplying Business to Business and Business to Consumer customers. There are several sources for receiving orders, from multiple websites, eBay accounts, and direct telephone orders. Orders were originally manually collected from the different sources on a time-consuming, one-by-one basis. Each order had to be individually checked to ensure that payment had been taken, before being passed on to the warehouse for picking and shipping to the customer.

Tandem Group has a PROTEUS software group policy; all companies in the group use Proteus software systems. They approached Proteus to see if their software specialists could help improve the workflow and productivity of the order entry system at Pro Rider, then follow on and resolve the same problem at ESC.

Utilising the eBay Trading API (Application Programming Interface) Proteus staff developed a solution by producing a seamless, automatic order entry process. By integrating the various order entry systems together, the downloading of orders became a simple process, accomplished with one click of the mouse. All orders are now checked for payment and details are then entered into the financial system automatically without the need for manual rekeying. Finally the new system produces a consolidated pick list ready for picking efficiently.

Tandem Group are very pleased with the new eCommerce integration as it has saved staff enduring a time consuming, manual process rekeying orders and entries to the financial system; releasing them to be deployed elsewhere. It has also improved accuracy, eliminated mis-picks and mis-shipments, thus making the order-to-pick process speedy and problem free.
