New WMS required to control 100,000 sq.ft. storage and distribution facility

UCD is a national shop fitting, manufacturing and logistics contractor with many years’ experience of providing a complete shop fitting service throughout the UK and Ireland.

Following their successes, the company has achieved organic growth, and their services have expanded to include the development of 100,000+ sq. ft. storage space at their RAF Newton facility.

The functionally rich Proteus WMS will control all of the processes within the warehouse utilising the latest RF technology. There are over 3,500 pallet spaces, storing stock for Superdrug retail stores, and the clothing retail chain New Look.

Renowned for their professionalism and dedication to their customers, UCD’s range of services include a dedicated telephone order line system for clients to place distribution orders that are processed immediately to impact against stock reports.

The orders are picked & packed, then shipped and distributed by their nationwide fleet of delivery drivers or passed onto their affiliated courier service, ensuring that all deliveries are received exactly when and where they are required.

UCD also has the ability to recycle surplus shop fittings and equipment no longer required in high street stores. The equipment once returned to the facility, is repaired or adapted and then returned to the clients’ inventory and asset register.
