Proteus WMS customer expresses their delight at being selected as a finalist

The short list has been announced for this year’s SHD Logistics awards which take place in London next month. The short list for this prestigious awards ceremony includes Widdop Bingham, alongside Proteus WMS, who have been nominated for the “Return on Investment” award following Widdop Bingham's quarter of a million pound investment in a new warehouse management system from Proteus.

The awards recognize operational excellence within the logistics sector and Widdop Bingham is pitted against the likes of Kelloggs, John Lewis and Morrisons.

Widdop went live with Proteus WMS in January 2014, and they have already seen major savings throughout their warehouse processes both in terms of staff and operational costs.

Chris Illingworth, Widdop Bingham’s IT, Finance and Logistics Director, is delighted to have made it to the finals and comments, “The return on investment for our new Warehouse Management System from Proteus was originally forecast to take around 3 years. However we underestimated this and are now going to realise full ROI after 18 months. We are very pleased. Speed, efficiency, accuracy and transparency are just some of the benefits the new system has delivered. It was no quick fix but the effort has been more than worth it”.

Widdop have also realised further benefits of having a fully integrated WMS as the system has been interfaced into their financial system, creating a seamless and paperless order process from point of order to despatch.
